One win, one out

Sorry, Ralph, I thought I had published your last comment. Unless you're rude, crude and socially unacceptable, I'll publish it. You have a right to opinions and comments, and I for one won't stifle it. It's a First Amendment thing.

On to the weekend news.

Davin Scites wins! Woo-hoo!

The Saturday race was rained out at Motor Mile Speedway in Radford, Va., and rescheduled for Sunday.

Davin qualified fifth and went on to smoke the field and bring home the win!

His Web site, www.davinscites.com is getting a new look this week, according to his PR folks. So let's all be sure to check it out later this week.

As for Brett Rowe, he was once again out of the running. It sounds like you guys believe it's the equipment, and it probably is.

He finished 38th, out after 40 laps due to overheating. Given more money and better equipment, he could probably do much better. But that's the issue $$$$$$$, and I'm sure his age getting up to this level could factor in it, too. There are drivers much older than Brett that qualify and run in the Nationwide series, so other than money and equipment, there's no reason he can't have a long career on the track.

Do you even research your stories before you post them?
The win By DAVIN was a hard fought last six lap battle, Davin did NOT "Smoke the field"
Get It right.

It's really good to see a home-grown Tri-State driver not just doing battle but winning at arguably the toughest track in the country to win in Late Model stock car racing. The competition there is fierce. To beat 2006 National Champion Phillip Morris at his home track any time is an accomplishment in itself.

Good luck this season Davin!

For those of you who haven't been to MMS, it's a beautiful facility. The owners now have over 13 million in the speedway and dragway. It's as close to going to a Sprint Cup facility as you can get.

Thanks, Ralph. I didn't think to look at the JR Motorsports site, I guess I'm not used to that connection yet.
Got any ideas on how to find Brett Rowe's schedule other than the entries list on the Nationwide page?
Honestly, I thought Brett was going to do the races closer to home to give fans a chance to see him race.
And I so hope to see him at Charlotte - maybe in the Marshall car at last. I'm going with about 45 folks from home on a bus trip from Around the World Travel in Charleston. It's a trip with the Official NASCAR Members Club. Davin's already made himself available to us if he's at the JR shop that weekend.
It would be nice to catch up with Brett if he's there, too.
